Showing a message
Open Say it, type your message, then tap Show. Use the Smaller and Larger controls to adjust the displayed text. Return to typing to edit it.
Live captions aren’t starting
Listen requires microphone and speech recognition permissions, plus support for Apple’s on-device English recognition. Check SeeSpeech’s permissions in your device’s Settings. If recognition is unavailable, typed messages remain available.
Captions stopped
Listening stops or pauses when the app becomes inactive, an audio interruption occurs, or the app speaks a message. Return to the app and tap Listen again. Recognition restarts can briefly interrupt capture.
Saving captions
Captions are temporary by default. Enable Save finalized captions for a conversation to save finalized utterances. Partial captions and microphone audio are never saved.
Speech playback
If Speak is disabled, enable text-to-speech in SeeSpeech’s Settings. Check your device’s volume and audio output, including connected Bluetooth devices.
Deleting or exporting conversations
Use History to manage saved conversations. Exports use the iOS share sheet. Deleting a conversation in SeeSpeech does not delete copies you previously exported.
Accessibility feedback
Tell us which screen or action is difficult and which accessibility settings you use. You do not need to disclose a diagnosis.
Caption limitations
Accuracy varies with speech clarity, noise and microphone conditions. SeeSpeech does not provide interpreting, clinical records, emergency communication guarantees or medical advice.
